A few days ago, when i was talking with my friend about fighter and military aircraft, i came up with a stupid idea, and it's involving the Concorde.

As we know, concorde is one of the biggest supersonic aircraft ever produced, right? Well, my idea is, if one day UK is involved in World War III, and i'm in charge of war strategies, i want a Concorde, with all the seats removed, and replace it with nothing and easier access cargo door. You could use it as a Supersonic military transport, or Supersonic huge-ass bomber, or a huge kamikaze-style supersonic bomber. What do you think?

This is why i shouldn't be in charge of war strategies.

The Concorde's fuselage is quite small, it couldn't carry much. Besides, ICBMs are much, much faster for delivering bombs.

The Concorde is fast, the Vympel R-77 is faster.

Concorde is actually pretty small. You'd also have to take into consideration the amount of time it would take to get any Concorde flying again, and the time it would take to test the bomb bay or cargo door. It would make more sense to keep the seats in and use it as a diplomatic transport and or priority transport across the Atlantic.

On the supersonic bomber front though, Air Combat Command has already got you covered. Arch Duke already poster her, but I'll do it too.

Although questionable, not having seen combat and still not commonly seen equipped on upgraded VVS Su-27s.

I'd prefer the rebirth of a different British aircraft:

The Vulcan would still be better suited for bombing runs today than a Concorde.

Small aside: Could I have authorship on Digital Burnouts?

If only we got the A, the B is beautiful but the A is so much greater!

When you think about it in the big picture though, killing the B-1A ended up being worth it. Out of it we got an even better B-1B and the B-2A.

Do you have to bring up the big picture? :P Yes, the cancellation of the A did result in two great airframes but I still don't like that the Bone got fat and neutered with the fixed intakes (although the weight increase did allow it to perform better in the weeds, changing landscape of war etc.). But all can be made right! Upgrade all the B's to B-1R standard and bring back the Mach 2.2+ performance! Then they can do this but faster!

Either way, all B-1's should wear this camo from now on!

Low observability and range > speed.

Many studies have been performed regarding the use of camouflage on aircraft. The dull greys most US aircraft wear have been found to be the best. Asia Minor may look pretty, but it'll show up pretty quick over the Pacific, no?

Not if it is rockin' towards you at mach 2+ with only the belly sticking out of the clouds, Shock and Awe, after all!

Kinja'd!!!

As for range, its only a loss of 20% if it upgrades from F101s to F119s, while gaining the ability to supercruise! I know, I know, just like wagons in America, not going to happen. But we were so close!
